Helen is Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of PortfolioHiWay. Helen started her investment career at Canadian ShareOwner Investments, which was later acquired by Wealthsimple, where she held the roles of VP and CCO and continued to scale digital business operations, working closely with regulators and other fintech businesses. Most recently, she was VP Digital Investment Programs for Canso Investment Counsel. Helen has completed various industry courses, including the CSC, CPH, PDO, CCO, Traders Trading Course, BMC and EMP. She brings more than 20 years of investment industry experience in leading client relations and digital experiences, product and platform development, online trading, compliance, strategic development and scaling businesses. Helen also mentors for Women in Capital Markets and is Co-Lead of the Global Distance Mentorship Program at Women in ETFs.

Daniel is the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of PortfolioHiWay. Daniel is a CPA, CA and a securities lawyer with a background in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and corporate finance. He began his career at Deloitte LLP and then worked at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP after completing his law degree. Daniel’s prior roles also include being the CFO of RIWI Corp., a global trend-tracking and prediction technology firm, CFO of Adriana Resources Inc., a mining company, and a member of the Board of Directors for Geodrill Limited, a drilling company operating in Africa. Daniel has a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo.

Diane started her career as an accountant at Ernst & Young LLP but soon ventured into capital markets into Equity Research and Leveraged Finance at large Canadian institutions. She then moved into asset management as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at GLC Asset Management. Most recently, joined Perron Asset Management as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager where she spearheaded the fixed income platform for their clients, launching their first fixed income fund and segregated account offerings (Perron Asset Management was eventually merged with Cumberland Investment Counsel in 2018). In addition to holding the CFA designation, Diane holds professional accounting designations in both Canada (CPA, CA) and the United States (CPA). She has a Bachelor of Mathematics -Chartered Accounting degree and a Master of Accounting, both from the University of Waterloo. She continues to volunteer her time today to help others at the local tax clinic and as a mentor with Futurpreneur. Diane is very passionate about startups and is also involved in the Toronto Chapter of Women’s Equity Lab.
